Paediatrics (the science and art concerned with childhood diseases) is a part of the discipline of child health. Child health concerns itself both with the health of children and also the services that promote children’s health, for both sick, disabled, vulnerable and healthy children. So the discipline of child health is wide ranging and attempts to be comprehensive. I have co-edited a text book called Child Health for All with the late Proff Maurice Kibel (emeritus University of Cape Town) and Haroon Saloojee (personal professor University of the Witwatersrand) which covers child health from a southern African perspective.

You will find the bulk of posts related to Paediatric and Child Health in the “Child Health in South Africa” category on the right of the webpage.

While I am very serious about Child Health, I am not averse to using music and words to help people laugh and learn about it. An example is Vomiting Verse, a lecture in rhyme.
